Appalachia Service Project

Every summer for more than 15 years, Arlington Temple has sent teams of adults and youth to Appalachia to spend a week repairing and fixing up homes in Appalachia through the Appalachia Service Project (www.asphome.org).  In that time we’ve been all over Appalachia, built wheelchair ramps and porches, replaced bathroom shower stalls and leaky kitchen sinks, installed new flooring, redone insulation and drywall, constructed skirts for mobile homes, and a lot of other projects. Of course, the most important part is the relationships we develop as we recognize that God works through us but also meets us wherever we go.

If you are age 14 or older, then you are invited to join us this summer by coming with us to make homes safer, warmer, and drier.  You don’t have to be a member of Arlington Temple, and no construction skills are required (though we love having people join us with special talents such as carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work!)  We also welcome youth and adults from other churches who want to serve but need to band with others to get to critical mass. If you are interested, please contact Pat Booher at PRBooher@aol.com or 703-447-1962 for more information.

Details coming soon about our Summer 2024 mission trip!
