Service Opportunities In The Community

In addition to our weekday ministry with our homeless neighbors, Arlington Temple serves our community in other ways and we invite you to join us!

Serving Meals

We periodically serve meals through one of A-SPAN's outreach programs, either at local parks or at the Arlington County emergency shelter. Check in with Pastor Allie for the next opportunity to serve in this capacity.

Fifth Sunday Service

Every time a month has a fifth Sunday, we gather after worship in the Fellowship Hall for a simple service project. Past projects have included bagging lunches for A-SPAN's day shelter, packaging beans and rice for the AFAC food pantry, and assembling toiletry kits for a nearby family shelter. These projects are a great way to both help out in the community and get to know your fellow worshipers better!

Christmas For All

Each year at Christmas time, we help provide gifts for A-SPAN clients who might not get any otherwise. You can either buy a gift from the list A-SPAN gives us at the beginning of December, or you can donate money and a team from the church will make the purchases. One Sunday after church before Christmas, we have a wrapping party for the gifts we're giving.

Other Mission and Service Opportunities

Periodically throughout the year, Arlington Temple participates in other community outreach events such as Stop Hunger Now, gleaning at local farms, and other things as opportunities arise! To keep up to date on what we're doing and how you can be involved, ask Pastor Allie to include you on her weekly E-note.
